Recognizes Bay Aging\u2019s 40 years of work to help residents age with dignity<\/strong><\/p>\n

(Urbanna, VA) \u2013\u00a0 Bay Aging has been acknowledged by the Senate of Virginia with a commending resolution that recognizes 40 years of service in the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula.\u00a0 Earlier today, the resolution\u2019s patron, Virginia State Senator Ryan McDougle, presented the resolution to Kathy Vesley, Bay Aging\u2019s President and CEO; Mr. Bobby Vassar, Senior Counsel to the President; and four members of the Bay Aging Board of Directors.\u00a0 The presentation was made at Port Town Village, one of ten income-restricted senior apartment complexes in the region that are owned and operated by Bay Aging.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are honored to be recognized by Senator McDougle for the work we have done to help residents in the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula age with dignity and live independently in their communities for as long as possible,\u201d said Kathy Vesley, Bay Aging\u2019s President and CEO. \u201cWe are dedicated to caring for older adults and people with disabilities with meals, home and personal care, public transportation, home repairs, living options and more.\u00a0 This resolution draws attention to Bay Aging\u2019s cause and the 26,000 lives we impact every year.\u201d<\/p>\n

Immediately following the presentation, Senator McDougle and Jennifer Beck, Community Living Director for Bay Aging, delivered a meal to Mr. Joseph Newton, a resident of Port Town Village, in support of the Meals on Wheels 2019 March for Meals campaign.\u00a0 Last year, Bay Aging volunteers and staff served 166,901 meals to seniors throughout the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula. \u00a0Senator McDougle\u2019s participation in the 17th Annual March for Meals campaign helped Bay Aging raise awareness for the growing number of seniors facing hunger and isolation, which are both serious problems currently impacting our community and the nation at large.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe really appreciate your service and commitment to the citizens of this region,\u201d said Senator McDougle. \u201cLife is better for many people because of what you do.\u201d<\/p>\n
